Marlboro Courses
What is the Marlboro Courses Site?
Marlboro Courses (powered by Moodle) is a course management system (similar to Blackboard) developed by educators with a "learning-centric" perspective. It allows you to easily set up interactive online spaces for your courses. You will be able to upload syllabi, host discussions(forums), accept assignments electronically, send email to your students, give quizzes, and much more.

Enroll as a student (For the students - also posted on Nook. Only necessary for the first two weeks of the semester)

30 minute presentation and discussion covering the basics of PowerPoint and presenting with PowerPoint. Topics include: the basics of presentation design, the fastest way to create a presentation, adding charts, text boxes and arrows, animation and more.

Cool Online Tools (and how to use in your courses)
Approximately 45 minute presentation/discussion exploring the following sites and how you could use these in your courses: delicious/furl/magnolia/connotea (online bookmarking and social bookmarking tools), google/googledocs/googlescholar (everything google- I guarantee I can teach you something about Google you didn't know), mindmeister, OttoBib, Wikispaces (some more tools that you may find useful.) This is my list- if you have any ideas or sites you would like to explore during this session please bring them along! If you have a laptop, bring it along to explore these sites as we discuss.

Web Site Design
60 minutes Hands-on workshop for beginners introducing participants to modern, efficient and accessible web design. Sessions will include time for participants to create, modify and place web pages online.

Managing Email
How to flag, tag, categorize and keep your inbox manageable. This session is for everyone - from those that check their email once a week to those that check every 5 minutes. Come learn tips and tricks for staying on top of email and feeling better about those digital missives. Bonus: Learn efficient search techniques and using Google Scholar.

An extension of the Cool Tools presentation with an emphasis on sites that can help you in and out of the classroom. Find cheap airfare, shopping, make graph paper, upload photos and much much more. I will share the helpful, fun, neat, and downright weird web sites that I have found over the years.
