General Physics I

Part I of a full-year introductory algebra-based physics course. First term topics emphasize Newtonian mechanics. Prerequisite: None

Physics Project Lab
TBA, Sci217 (variable credit), multi level, Jim Mahoney.
Work on an experimental project of your choice in mechanics, acoustics, electronics, etc. Credit and level of technical expertise is dependent upon student project.
Prerequiste: Permission of instructor

Computational Physics
Tues/Thurs 10:00-11:20, Sci217 (3 cr), Intermediate, Jim Mahoney.
An intro to various ways to use a computer to do physics problems. Includes work on various differential equations, examination of numerical techniques, data analysis, visualization, and so on. Specific programming language(s) and content will depend on the class.
Prequisite: sophomore level in math/physics

General Relativity
time: tba (3 cr), Advanced, Jim Mahoney.
Einstein's theory of gravity through curved space-time.
